Year 2 Learning About Hygiene
Year 2 have been learning about hygiene this week. What a great way to learn about germs and the importance of hand hygiene, especially as we enter the season of colds and runny noses!
We had a great time in our science lesson this week. We learnt about the importance of hygiene. We explored how germs spread through conducting investigations. We put glitter on our hands and shook hands with one another. This has shown us how germs spread through touch. We also saw how soap works in action which helped us to remember why it is important to wash our hands with soap. We placed black pepper in a bowl of water and put our finger in, first without soap and then with soap. We observed the black pepper moving away from our fingers when we had soap on our fingers. This helps us to remember that soap is important in repelling germs as it helps to remove them from our hands.
