Autumn 2 – PE & Sport Update
Year 3-4 Haringey Football Cup
On 18th Nov we competed in the Haringey Year 3-4 Football Cup for boys and girls. After a tough start the girls got going with a brilliant 2-0 win and then hit the post in a close 0-0 game against Bounds Green. The boys lost their first two games but responded brilliantly with a 4-0 win over Chestnuts! We failed to qualify for the quarter finals with the girls so close after missing out on goal difference! The behaviour and attitude was superb as always and we’re ready to get back to training to come back stronger next time!
Girls: Deena, Maria, Amina, Danya, Stefenia, Mabel, Krystle, Alayah
Boys: Zaiah, Jah’mai, Kairo.A, Noah, Alfie, Ramone, Antowan, Lazaro
Hi-Five Netball Competition
On Monday 31st October, while most pupils were at home, our netball team came in to school especially to take part in the biggest netball competition of the calendar. We’ve worked hard in training each week and it showed in the first 4 games – drawing 1 and winning 3, beating Harris Academy, Rhodes Avenue and the hosts Highgate School! Qualifying top of the group for the Quarter Finals we were desperately unlucky not to progress further losing to a last minute shot against Coldfall, losing 3-2. I was extremely impressed with the attitude and technical ability of our team. Well done all!
Netball Team – Iris, Debbie, Waverly, Athena, Lottie, Reuben, Dominic, Dieumerci
Haringey Rugby Cup and Rugby Festival!
On 10th and 11th Nov our rugby specialists went to the Haringey Tag Rugby Cup and the Tag Rugby Festival. In the cup we went undefeated for the 2nd year running! Winning 3 and drawing 2! Zahara was the key defender and Reuben and Adanis our key attaching players! In a mix up in the scoring system we missed out on our semi-place so felt slightly aggrieved! Nevertheless the children played some outstanding rugby and represented the school with pride! In the festival there was a short coaching session and then plenty of games. We had two fantastic wins, 2 close draws and a loss with Judah at the heart of the attacking play! The children developed their skills throughout the day and played with enthusiasm and skill. Well done all.
Rugby Cup: Zahara, Khloe, Jean, Hebron, Reuben, Dieumerci, Adanis, Fefe, Abu
Rugby Festival: Misha, Athena, Makayla, Josiah, Daniel H, Judah, Julian, Eddie
Haringey Schools Cycling League – 7th October 2022
This is our (very good) review from the Haringey Cycling League
Five schools took part in the inaugural round of the 2022-23 League at Ducketts Common last month. Returning champions Stroud Green showed their now familiar form, taking the most points to set an early lead in the trophy standings competition. Close behind in the points table were St Mary’s who weren’t going to let Stroud Green have it all their own way. In probably their best League performance to date, they notched up the most wins on the day.
