14 Sep Early Sporting Success for St Mary’s
Cross Country Competition at New River
Twenty of our pupils took part in the first cross country event of the new school year yesterday. The race is for Y6 children but Mr Oakley selected a range from Y5 & Y6 and even included some Year 4 children.
The children all did extremely well and surprised themselves but we must make special mention of Jack (3rd place and medal winner), Dominic (6th) and Max (10th) who all came in the top 10 in the boys race and Hebron who performed strongly in the girls race. This is in a field of nearly 200 competitors so well done to them, and all of our children who took part with so much enthusiasm and determination. We’re proud of you all. The top finishers will now go on to represent Haringey at London Youth Games in November.
These are the children that took part: Jean, Athena, Hebron, Waverley, Olivia, Isabelle, Maria, Ffion, Dominic, Abu, Eddie, Julian, Reuben, Josiah, Triston, Jack, Max, Joseph, Bradley, Adrian and Ed. Thank you Mr Allison and Mrs Brewer for taking the children and for the parent volunteers who went along too.
