Easter at St Mary’s – 2025
We’ve had a wonderful week of Easter celebrations.
They started on Saturday with the Easter egg hunt at Church Lane, which was lots of fun. It was particularly enjoyable as we shared the day with the Crouch End Craft Fair, who had lots of wonderful stalls in the churchyard, selling everything from knitted seagulls to fantastic artwork of local landmarks. The Hornsey Church Tower was also open for trips up to the top, and with such beautiful weather, the views will have been fabulous.
On Wednesday we had our Easter procession with Derek the donkey, processing from Church Lane to Rectory Gardens, under police escort. Derek led the way, followed by the church team of Fr Bruce, Mthr Clemency and Gavin who led the singing while the children waved their palm crosses.
Once assembled on the green there was more singing and readings and prayers, whilst Derek chomped away at the grass on the green in front of the school.
Friday ended the main celebrations with a moving church service at Hornsey Parish Church, with Year 3 performing the story of Easter.
