International Mother Language Celebrations
International Mother Language Day is a worldwide annual observance held on 21st February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism.
We would love to celebrate this and have the children share something.
They could do this by:-
- Writing a poem in their language
- Learning a nursery rhyme to recite
- Creating a poster with a few words in their language
- Making a fact file about their country
- Taking a video of themselves speaking in their language with a parent
- Or anything that they fancy to promote another language
The children can share this in a special assembly – see below:-
