Dear Parents/Carers,
Happy Summer!
Summer is indeed here at last and most of us are grateful for the glorious weather this week. However, children sometimes forget that they are overheating and we actively encourage them to do all they can to stay cool when it gets particularly warm. Please help us to do this by ensuring that your child comes to school with a water bottle each day, to remind them to drink water as and when needed (as we do), to wear a cap/hat as well as high factor sun cream as needed. Do remember that we are not allowed to apply sun cream to the children.
Class Trips – Thank You PSA
We are hugely grateful that the PSA have donated £300 to each class to help fund a class trip this term. Therefore, all year groups have something really exciting to look forward to, whether this is going to Willows Farm or to London Zoo. There will be much evidence of the wonderful time that your children have had on the school website via the pictures taken and the corresponding narrative.
Y5 Paris Assembly
Merci Bien Year 5 for portraying the wonderful time that you had on your recent trip to Paris. We are so pleased that you got an opportunity to share your wonderful experiences with your parents this week.
Y5&6 Cycling at Velodrome
You may also have seen on the website that our school was invited to go along to the outdoor Velodrome in Herne Hill, South London to take part in the most special cycling experience. The children relayed how amazed there were at just how steep the sides of the track are. It doesn’t look like that on TV and is actually a little bit scary, especially since the bikes have no brakes!!
Upcoming Summer Fair and Sports Day
Please save the date Saturday 2nd July. This is our school summer fair, back this year in full gusto. Please do all you can to both support and promote this very special annual event in the life of our school, especially since we are once again able to have a Summer Fair without any restrictions being placed on us. Please also remember that it is through supporting events like this, that the PSA is able to raise money to allow for your children to attend the wonderful trips that they have recently been able to (or are about to), attend.
Sports Day is also fast approaching! This year, it will be held even closer to home (and toileting facilities!) in Priory Park. This will be a whole school and family fun event so do please also ensure that the date is set in your calendar….Thursday 14th July!
And there is so much more to come for the rest of this term – do please consult the calendar on the school website for all of the events for the rest of the this academic year or see the list below for assemblies, trips and more.
School Uniform
We are noticing that a number of children are coming into school not wearing the correct school uniform. Please remember that unless it is a PE Day (plain house colours only for PE kit), that children should otherwise always wear the correct school uniform every day.
Ofsted Inspection
As many of you know, we recently welcomed Ofsted to our school. We are still awaiting the issue of the final report, and we are unable to let you know the outcome until all of their processes have concluded. We will keep you updated, and will share everything with you as soon as we are able.
With very best regards,
Calvin Henry
