Dear Parents & Carers,
Despite the hot weather we have still managed to cover lots of ground over the last two weeks.
Summer Fair
We started with the wonderful Summer Fair where the sun shone on Church Lane for the final fair, and a good time was had by all. Nearly £3,000 was raised to go towards good things for the children, so that’s very good news. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped, or just enjoyed the atmosphere. You can see some highlights of the day here Summer Fair 2026
Visits and Visitors
We have had visits out and visitors in. Year 5 welcomed Louis from the London Fire Brigade who taught the children about fire safety at home. Please ask them what they learnt. Year 6 had some wonderful visitors from Greig City Academy who came to talk about oracy and the art of public speaking, which was a handy introduction to our visitor Nav Chowdhry who spoke to all the children at Rectory Gardens about similar themes, and gave Year 6 some good advice for their upcoming production. Year 1 had a great trip to Railway Fields.
We have lots more trips coming up – by now Year 6 will have been ice-skating and Y3 will have played Crazy Golf at Trent Park. Every class has an outing planned, thanks to the generosity of the PSA who has funded all the class trips this summer.
Parent Survey
There is still an opportunity to complete the Parent Survey – your views are really important and help us focus on the things that matter to you Parent Survey 2026
New Families
Next Tuesday we will welcome our new nursery and Reception families to Church Lane to complete their enrolment, and to hear about our school. We look forward to meeting them.
Next Year and Beyond
We are putting the finishing touches to the class arrangements for next year and will have this information to you as soon as we can.
The building work is progressing and we can see the new ground floor layout taking shape. Have you seen how it looks from Rectory Gardens? The builders have worked all through the heatwave, so we’re very grateful that they’re keeping it all on track.
Sports Day
Next Friday is Sports Day – you can see more information about this in the calendar dates below, and please note that we are using the opportunity to try to raise some money for our two chosen charities this year.
Children and Screen Time
Haringey has put together some useful guidance on screen time for children. You can read what they have to say here Haringey Screentime Guidance for Parents and Carers
