Daily Life

The School Day

We are open for the required number of hours per day, typically 32.5 hours per week. The school day structure for each phase can be found below:

8.45am	Gates open member of staff on duty in the main playground
8.55am	Bell rung and children enter their own classroom via the classroom
9.05am	Registers closed
9.10am	Literacy or Numeracy/Foundation Stage Activities
10.10am	Assembly
10.30am	Playtime
10.45am	Bell Rings
11.00am	Literacy/Numeracy/Foundation Stage/Activities or PE
11.50am 12.05pm	Lunchtime– Reception Classes lunch – Children are collected from their classroom by their SMSA. Lunchtime – Y1 & Y2 (Classes are divided into sittings
1.00pm	Bell rings for Reception – children to come into class
1.15pm	Lunchtime finishes
1.20pm	Foundation Subjects
2.30pm	Playtime
2.45pm	Bell Rings
2.50pm	Phonics/story/foundation subjects
3.30pm	3.20pm Gate opens and 3.30pm children go home
	Children who are not collected are brought to the office for a telephone call to parents/carers. Staff to record this in absence/lateness book in office. Member of the Leadership Team will supervise late children.

12.15pm	Lunchtime – Children come downstairs for lunch. Classes are divided into sittings.
1.15pm	Lunchtime finishes
1.25pm	Afternoon session 1
	– Younger children may have an afternoon break
2.20pm	Afternoon session 2
3.15pm	End of school day – Children go to a ‘going home place’ and parent/carers come to the playground. Class teachers allow children to go when parent/carer is present.
	Children who are not collected are brought to the office for a telephone call to parents/carers. Staff to record this in absence/lateness book in office. Member of the Leadership Team will supervise late children.
