Dance Festival at Highgate School
After a wonderful dance try out where over 30 children put together some fantastic dance routines, we selected two dance groups to participate in the Highgate Dance Festival. It was a wonderful experience for our dancers who were first given a masterclass dance session by two GCSE dance students and a Dance teacher. During the session, they learned a new dance from scratch and played some fun dance games. Later they performed that dance as well as the one they had choreographed and created themselves to around 100 children/adults in Highgate’s Dance theatre! I was super proud of the bravery and skill to perform so well in front of an audience, they were professional throughout and the dance was received very well by all!

Haringey Basketball Cup
Today (20th March) we attended the Haringey Basketball cup. We took a small but skilful team and headed of to APS school. There was some fantastic basketball on show and the competition was extremely high as always. After winning two, drawing one and losing one in the morning group stages we found out we had entered the top group in the afternoon and would have a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals. In the afternoon group games we beat Lee Valley, drew with Bounds Green, lost narrowly to Rhodes Avenue meaning we had to win our last game against St Pauls and we did that brilliantly winning 5-2. We lost the semi-final by a point (3-2) but had a chance of bronze in the 3rd place play-off against Tetherdown. It was a super close game where Kailo hit a superb mid-range shot to bring it back to 3-3. The game entered golden basket where the next team to score would win. Za’ni drove to the basket and scored a fantastic lay up to win us Bronze medals! Za’ni led the way with scoring and showed his skill brilliantly throughout, however, it was a great team effort and I was really impressed with how we improved through the day. Well done all!

Year 3 Receive Basketball Masterclass from Mulberry Academy Coaches
As part of an out-reach programme, Mulberry Academy sent a basketball coach to work with our year 3’s. Over two weeks the year 3’s improved their dribbling, passing and shooting skills and were blessed with good weather too! Over at Church Lane, the sun finally shone too as Reception moved on to football and Year 1 and 2 played handball.
