Summer 1 Sporting Update

Haringey Basketball Cup

On 28^th March we participated in the Haringey Basketball Cup. With 20 schools we were put in to a group of 5.  Only the winners of each group had the opportunity for medals. We started with big wins against St Martins and Lea Valley, we drew with St Pauls and lost to Coldfall – the eventual winners. In the following round we won 2 more against Rokesly and Harris and drew another. We played some excellent basketball and, on another day, could have achieved a medal. Za’ni was a standout performer but it was a real team effort. We ended up 7^th out of 20. Well done to all involved.

St Mary’s Shine at Highgate Dance Festival

On 26^th March, our dance team went to the Highgate Dance Festival. Prior to this we held a Dance-Off to decide who got to attend and I was blown away by the amount of talent on show! Two groups were selected and they combined their dance to create an amazing performance. It’s a fantastic event where the children experience a dance masterclass and learn a new dance from scratch from Highgate School 6^th formers. In the afternoon, each school performs that dance as well as their own to a full auditorium. Our performance had a ton of charisma and looked very professional. It was received with lots of cheering from an impressed audience. A fantastic experience for those involved.
