22 Jun Summer “Soulstice” Concert – June 2023
Summer “Soulstice” Concert 21st June 2023
To celebrate the longest day of the year we held a music concert featuring so many of the talented children at St Mary’s, splendidly led by Ms Peacock and ably assisted by Mr Henry (and Charlie).
The band performed two pieces, including one they had written themselves and the choir perform Twende. Performing next were Thomasina and Olivia, who sang Space Between, Jah’mai, Walter, Raphael and Ada for had us dancing in our chairs with Parajito Note Samba and One. Next Mabel and Naomi E sang a Million Dreams followed by Tristan on the cello. Next was Safia singing Angel following by Kacia and Danya on the drums, then Robyn and Danae who performed Flowers. Jeremi played some classical piano for us – Egyptian Level and Waves on the Shore then four of the girls from Violet performed a piece that they had composed during music lessons. Lottie and Tristan sang a song written by Lottie, remembering her journey through St Mary’s and the concert ended up with a medley from Matilda by the choir.
It was a very lovely evening and parents and carers were entertained and proud. One parent said “Please pass on my thanks to Ms Peacock and all the staff that put the work in with the children! Tonight was a wonderful celebration of the children St Mary’s produce. Full of confidence!! So wonderful. That’s why I love St Mary’s!!”
Let’s hope this is the start of an annual tradition.
Thank you Ms Peacock
