Amazing Cycling Experience at Herne Hill Velodrome

Cycling master class at the Velodrome! 

After a fantastic year of bikeability and competing in the Haringey cycle league we were invited to a coaching session at the Velodrome race track in Hearne Hill.

Built in 1891 it’s one of the oldest cycle tracks in the world!

The children selected learned how to ride on the specialists bikes which have 1 gear, no brakes and are designed for speed!

It was a fantastic inspiring experience as the children learned loads about track cycling and then got to compete at the end in mini relay races.

Hopefully we can continue developing cycling at St Marys;  we want more children cycling for fun, more cycling to school and more cycling competitively!
