Y4 Visit the Hindu Mandir
Year 4 took a trip to the Neasden Mandir which is a sacred Hindu temple not far from Wembley Stadium. It is an incredibly impressive marble building covered in intricate patterns and filled with statues that are sacred to Hindus. We enjoyed a tour of the building and we watched the daily ceremony of light which involved chanting, clapping and prayer from the monks and other members of the congregation. We also watched a fascinating video about how the building was constructed with the intricate carving being done in India and then thousands of volunteers worked together to build the biggest Mandir built outside of India.
The children said:
Alisha “The Mandir inside was very beautiful because all of the designs and statues we very intricate patterns”
Marios “I liked the outside of the Mandir because it looked like a Mario-kart track”
Malakai ” It was very well designed, how they made it was very smooth and I can tell that they took lots of care and time and effort to make it and build it”.
