Year 3 and Year 5 Welcome Visitors From Hong Kong
Year 5 and Year 3 were very lucky to have our annual visit from a group of students from Hong Kong. There were 25 international students from City University of Hong Kong and the children learnt about traditions, language and significant elements of Chinese culture.
All children participated in games and made lanterns, decorated fans, made origami animals and Chinese opera masks, and learnt phrases. The students gave a chopstick masterclass and generously gave the children a variety of gifts to end one of the most memorable afternoons of the year. This visit is organised by Helen Midhage (formerly a parent at St Mary’s parent) who works for Middlesex University and we are very grateful to her for continuing to bring visitors. A huge thank you to the enthusiastic and talented students for being such great teachers.
