Haringey Cycling League – Round 1 – Hill Sprints!
On Friday 2nd October we participated in the Haringey Cycling League. After last year’s success (Bronze Overall) we we’re hoping for a good start. It was a tough challenge with pure uphill sprints, however, we had some excellent success with Alex and Shawna leading the way alongside good results for Bebolt and Riley.

Emilia (Year 5) is crowned Haringey Cross Country Champion!
On Monday, we took 19 children the Haringey Cross Country competition. With more than a hundred boys and around 90 girls and almost 200 racers – this is Haringey biggest sports event of the year! Emilia started strong in the girls race and was in 3rd after two kilometres. At that point, she picked up the pace moving into first position and managing to go onto win the whole race – 1st out of 90 children is a very special achievement. The other girls worked hard with Victoria and Agnes also doing well.
Cross Country Team: Jono, Khaleel, Fergus, Alex, Frank, Emmanuel, Zion, Fletcher, Nikolaos, Khian, Daniel, Santiago, Jorgee, Victoria, Shawna, Carmen, Agnes, Emilia, Alina
Team building and Athletics in PE
We’ve had a great start to the year in PE as children from Nursery to Year 6 have got use to their new PE times and areas. We focused on team building to set a positive tone for the year and moved on to athletics and movement games. Basketball and Rugby next!
Girls Football team impress at Haringey Cup while the boys show spirit!
In our first competition of the year, we had a great start with our girls football team. Out of 7 matches we won 4, lost 2 and drew 1 and only missed out on the semi-finals through goal difference. We had some great wins, beating Rokesly 3-1, St Michael’s 4-0 and Trinity 4-1. Kimberly, Tayshia, Jorgee and Erva were our midfielders and did so well at finding space, passing and creating chances. Shawna was fantastic in goal with Emilia brilliant in defence. Adina was our striker and scored plenty! Lots of talent on show, well done team! The boys team had a much tougher competition, failing to qualify for the knock outs after being put in an especially tough mini league! They didn’t give up though, stayed together as a group and actually showed great team spirit to keep going. Back to the training ground before the next one!
