Year 5 Topaz Visit Hornsey Fire Station
To raise awareness of the role of the Fire Station in keeping us safe, Year 5 visited Hornsey Fire Station. They met with firefighters, sat in the cab, used the hose and had a good look around. For Topaz class, the trip was cut slightly short as the alarms sounded, the fire fighters jumped into their kits and the engines had to leave, at speed, to attend an incident. This really brought home to the children the importance of the important job that firefighters do.
In the words of Tayon: “Midway through our question time, an emergency call came through. It was fun seeing the firemen swiftly kick into action and go and save the day!”
Y5 Turquoise class will be visiting on Friday.
