World Book Day 2026
We love World Book Day at St Mary’s. It’s a day to celebrate books and a love of reading and most children (and staff!) love a chance to dress up and talk about their favourite book. The children took home their £1.00 World Book Day tokens to use to get a reduction on a range of lovely books. (And we have the Scholastic Book Fair on week beginning 23/3). We had a range of potatoes decorated as book characters and enjoyed the parents/carers staying to Stay and Read. All the children really enjoyed taking part in the class swaps – whether they were being read to by older children, or were reading to older children.
