05 Jun Hong Kong Students Visit St Mary’s
Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 Welcome Visitors From Hong Kong
We were happy that our annual visit from students of City University of Hong Kong came in to see us today. They are currently in London and studying for a short while at Middlesex University. As part of their time here, they visit us, as a local primary school to see how British schools are, and our children are very lucky to be able to learn about traditions, language and significant elements of Chinese culture.
All children participated in games and made lanterns, decorated fans, learnt how to use chopsticks and write numerals in Mandarin characters. The students delivered really interesting presentations to the children as well as gifts. It is a very special afternoon. This visit is organised by Helen Midhage (formerly a parent at St Mary’s parent) who works for Middlesex University and we are very grateful to her for continuing to bring visitors. A huge thank you to the enthusiastic and talented students for being such great teachers.
