Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope this newsletter finds you and your families well.
We are now well into a new school year and much is underway to ensure that your children are getting the best of everything that St Mary’s is able to provide.
Nursery & Reception Meet the Teacher Meetings
Welcome once again to so many new families to St Mary’s. I very much hope that you have settled into life at our school and that your children are flourishing as a result. For those of you who managed to attend the ‘Meet the Teacher Meeting’ last night, I also hope that you received much useful information about what your children are learning this term and how you are able to support them at home.
School Progress Coffee Morning with Mr Henry and his Leadership Team: Tuesday 4th October at 9am, Church Lane site
Do come along to this meeting next week Tuesday morning where you will have the opportunity to learn about our key priority areas for improvement this year (see the attached document). You will also get the chance to meet other parents over a coffee and a friendly chat.
Year 6 to Osmington Bay
In the week beginning Monday 10th October, our Year 6 children will be visiting the PGL resort of Osmington Bay, where they will be together for the week and take part in a range of fun and challenging activities run by PGL staff. It is a rite of passage that our Year 6 children get this opportunity to have the most wonderful of experiences.
Parent and School Association (PSA) Annual General Meeting
Please come along to the PSA Annual General Meeting (details below). Here, you will get to meet a number of our parents who are actively involved in helping to fund raise for our school. These funds are then used to provide fun and creative ‘extras’ for your children, including for example school trips and playground equipment..
Parent Governor Election
Earlier this week, you will have been sent a letter about the need to appoint a new parent governor to St Mary’s. This follows the resignation of a previous parent whose child left at the end of Year 6 in July. If you would like to nominate yourself, or you know of anyone who would be interested in becoming a governor, do refer to the letter and send the required information into the school.
Wishing you a restful and enjoyable weekend,
With warm wishes,
Calvin Henry
