Our Allotment Comes To Fruition
Did you know that we have an allotment at Rectory Gardens? It’s lovingly tended by Mrs Brewer with very willing helpers.
This summer we have had a bountiful raspberry harvest, that many of the children have tasted. We have such a glut of them that we decided to christen our Thermomix (remember that from the International Evening?) and to make jam.
Some of the children picked the raspberries, washed them and followed the on-screen instructions to make the jam.
This involved adding raspberries, lemon juice and sugar then patiently waiting for 35 minutes and then a little longer and the reward was two wonderful jars of absolutely delicious jam.
