Autumn 1 Sporting Update
Boys Haringey Football Cup
The boys had a tough time at the Haringey Football Cup last week, only managing 2 draws. However, we sent a Y5 team mainly playing against year 6 teams and this experience will prove invaluable as they improve. I was proud of the way they stuck together and didn’t give up. We scored some nice team goals with a 4-4 draw against Weston Park being the highlight.
Team: Callum, Jono, Khian, Fergus, Franky Jnr, Jayden, Moziah-King, Didi
Outstanding Girls Performance at Haringey Football Cup
On 25th September, we sent our girls team to the Haringey Football Cup. We started in an incredible fashion winning 4-0 then 3-0 then 5-0! Adina and Amina were the top scorers but Kimberley was excellent in midfield and Lya and Tashia were outstanding in defence and goal. We won 5, drew 1 and lost 1 and qualified for the quarterfinals. In a tough QF match we lost narrowly to finalists, Channing Girls School. I was immensely proud of the girls as we showed we can compete with the best in Haringey. A huge well done to all involved.
Team: Tashia, Kimberley, Amina, Lya, Mabel, Deena, Adina, Alayah
Super Effort at Haringey Cross Country!
In the biggest event of the sporting calendar, we sent 26 children to the Haringey Cross Country. With around 150 children competing in a 5k race this is a super competitive event. While most runners are in Year 5-6, we also sent a few year 4s and it was Emilia in Y4 finishing in an incredible 16th position! Jono finished 18th which is also an amazing achievement with Frank and Alex M (both year 4!) also finishing competitively. Amina and Danya both had strong races and I was proud of all our competitors taking part in the toughest of sporting challenges!

Well done to the following children for being selected for these prestigious roles! They will act as role models to the rest of the school and have a range of responsibilities from giving parent tours to collecting house points, managing play equipment and helping to organise inter house competitions. Team-building at Church Lane
We had a fantastic start to PE at Church Lane as the children took part in a team-building lesson. All games/activities were based in teams and houses and the children had to support each other and show leadership and teamwork skills in a range of fun games and challenges
