Spring Sports Round Up!

Indoor Athletics 

In January we took part in the Haringey indoor athletics competition. We had some fantastic individual results with lots of golds in both track and field events. Going into the relays we were in 1^st position, leading all other school. However, our relay races didn’t quite match our dominance in the individual events and we ended up finishing joint 2^nd. We were agonisingly close to qualifying but just missed out this time! For many this was the children’s first athletics competition and we were so proud of all involved!

Girls: Anaya, Keilani, Kalisha, Karis, Alexa, Mia, Chaya, Mariah

Year 5-6 Haringey Boys and Girls Football Cups

In February the children participated in the Haringey Football Cup.  Both the boys and girls teams had some great games, but neither were able to reach the final rounds, so not our best competition but we learn from every event and will be back stronger next time! Well done all involved.

St Mary’s attend Charlton vs Oxford Football Match

The school was thrilled to obtain 30 tickets to a recent Charlton FC match and distributed them to interested families. All tickets were used as our children/families enjoyed a day at the football with Oxford winning the match 4-0!

Gymnastics

We have had a fantastic term of gymnastics in lessons with children learning their own routine as well as using the range of gymnastics apparatus. Well done to all children who attend our gymnastic trials, it really highlighted just how many talented gymnasts we have at our school! The team has been selected and will be preparing for the upcoming Haringey gymnastics competition. To celebrate the end of the module we had some children performing their routines in assembly – a huge well done to those children and we hope to have another gymnastics assembly this half term.

Sport England Survey

We have been selected by Sport England to take part in a National Sports Survey. Years 2, 4 and 6 will be completing the survey. More details to follow.
