Year 3 Learning About Judaism
As part of the Y3 RE unit the children are learning about Judaism. They spent time learning about mezuzahs . A mezuzah is a piece of parchment inscribed with specific Hebrew verses from the Torah, which Jewish people affix in a small case to the doorposts of their homes. Joseph said “I carefully made a Mezuzah and wrote my own Shema prayer that I put inside”
Malakai said: “I made a lovely Mezuzah and put my own prayer inside – some of us helped each other with the tricky folding and sticking”
Tamirah said: “We had to cut accurately and cut and glue. We even wrote our own Shema prayer. I enjoyed it so much!”
