24 Jun School Trips – Summer Term 2024
Y1 Go To The Zoo
For the final trip of Year 1 enjoyed a long but enjoyable end of year trip to London Zoo. Whilst there, we saw the lions and their new cubs, the gorillas and their new babies, the tigers, the giant turtles, butterflies, monkeys and of course the penguins.
Y4 Go Ape!
Year 4 has a fantastic time at Go Ape last week! The children were courageous, faced their fears and had lots of fun swinging through the trees and navigating the exciting cross walks high up. Even the teachers had a go!
Deena said: It was very fun! my favourite part was spending the day with all of year 4 and my teachers. Everyone was cheering me on which felt great. I was scared but I faced my fears and I want to go back again.
Bruce: I thought it was brilliant fun. I loved going down the zip line best of all! I also liked being able to sit with my friends having lunch and playing games. I also liked the trickier parts of the course where I almost fell but I knew I was safe because I was attached.
Y5 Visit to Bruce Castle Park and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Y5 visited Bruce Castle Playground and had an absolute blast! Children enjoyed their free time with some ice cream and picnic. Then, we visited Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a tour which was very special and enjoyable. Children loved their day out!
Y3 Jade Visit The Aquarium & Have a Boat Ride too!
Jade Class had ‘the best day ever’ on our trip to the London Aquarium! We began our journey by getting the tube and arrived at Westminster and took in the sights of Big Ben and the London Eye from the bridge before heading into the Aquarium.
In the Aquarium we saw so many cool sea creatures. We saw sting rays, a giant turtle, jelly fish and sharks! We then enjoyed lunch in Waterloo before embarking on our clipper boat to take in the views of all the sights from the River Thames.
We took the train home from Canary Wharf and ended our jam-packed day of fun back in St Mary’s just in time for home-time.
It really was the best day ever!
Y1 Trip To The Science Museum
We enjoyed our Destination Space workshop where we learnt about the lack of gravity in space and how the astronauts, their food and water float about. We investigated this by blowing a ball in the air with a hairdryer and carrying it to a basketball net in the air. We learnt about what materials the space suits and rocket could and could not be built from and how hard it is to exercise in space due to the lack of gravity. We explored the space gallery and saw the moon rock, Tim Peake’s landing module and all the planets in 3D illuminated form.
Y3 Emerald Class Visit The Aquarium & Have A Boat Ride
Y3 Emerald class had a thrilling day out in London, visiting The London Aquarium and taking a boat down the river, passing under Tower Bridge, to Canary Wharf and back again! And London looking glorious in the perfect weather.
Tyrese said: “My favourite part was when we walked in the aquarium on the glass and there were sharks below.”
Sofia said: “We had so much fun on the boat and went under Tower Bridge!”
