Year 1 Have Been Busy
Year 1 this week have been practising fractions in maths by finding half of a shape and quantity. Last week, we used the Beebots to think about turns, left and right and forwards and backwards. In English, we have completed our story based on ‘The Secret of Black Rock’ and began creating a diary about the characters in our story, using our adjectives, plurals and past tense verbs. In geography, we continue to explore the weather using a thermometer to find out the temperature, an Okta grid to look at the formation of the clouds in the sky, and a wind sock to measure how strong the winds are and from what direction they are coming. In science, we have been planting our sunflower seeds and walking around the local area exploring what common plants we can find. In RE, we continue to explore the story of Noah and what the values are in the story. And in PSHE, we continue to investigate how to stay safe and healthy by thinking about healthy and unhealthy diets.
