Y2 trip to The Tower of London

Year 2’s topic this term is Magnificent Monarchs and the children recently enjoyed their trip to the Tower of London. Having learned all about King Henry VIII and his reign, they were very excited to see his armour and learn about the history of the Tower of London. Highlights of the trip included a tour of the Crown Jewels and a workshop with a medieval knight, demonstrating how to become one of the King’s best men and enjoy life inside the castle.  As a preview to the next monarch we will be learning about, the children’s curiosity was stirred by the sight of Queen Victoria’s miniature imperial and state crown, encrusted with sparkling diamonds!
