Y4 Head to the Zoo
On Monday 28th April, Year 4 went on a school trip to London Zoo to consolidate their learning in science on Living Things and their Habitats. We ventured off on a journey to Regent’s Park and explored the many enclosures of the animals. It was really interesting to see the mix of habitats – from Penguin Beach to the lions’ savannah and even the scary spider walk-through that some of us opted out of! We used our learnt scientific language of prey and predator when we saw different animals, too.
We were really lucky when we saw the two baby gorillas, as a zookeeper was there to answer all the questions we had. Carmen in Scarlet Class said, “I really enjoyed the gorillas because we learnt new facts like how dominant males have a silver back.”
Many of us had lots of fun with the reptiles and minibeasts. Sonny enjoyed making a lizard follow his finger through the glass and Roman, our class spider enthusiast, said, “My favourite part was walking through the spider enclosure because I got to get up close to some different spiders.”
