Santa Run 2023
On Friday 15th December we completed our Santa Hat Run! This was cancelled last year due to heavy snow but was back with a bang this year! Thank you to all who contributed as we raised money for the PSA and for two Sensory Pods for each site. This was our best ever Santa Run with children putting in so much effort in their runs and all done with a smile! Well done to all and thank you for any contributions!
St Mary’s Achieve Gold at Haringey Boccia Competition!! Haringey Champions!
13 children, Ms Vidic and a committed group of staff attended the Haringey Boccia Competition (Similar to lawn bowls) last week. We had some fantastic results throughout the day with the children loving the competition, representing the school and working at a team! The children played some fantastic Boccia and after some close games we went on to win the entire competition and will now represent Haringey at the London Youth Games. I’m unbelievably proud of the children and all the staff who supported this trip and we’re very excited to compete at the London Youth Games!

Jack and Max Selected to Represent Haringey for Football
After putting forward several students for the Haringey District football team I am pleased to announce Jack and Max were selected for the team and will now represent Haringey in ‘district football’. They will play their first game against Hackney this weekend. A fantastic achievement! We’re so proud of them and hope to share photos as soon as we get them.
St Mary’s come close at Haringey Tag Rugby Cup
On Thursday 9th November we entered the Haringey Tag Rugby Cup. We had a very strong team this year but the competition was fierce and our group was especially difficult. We drew our first game with Harris PL in a close game and lost the next game narrowly to Muswell Hill (who got to the final). As we practiced and improved during the day, we went on to win our next two games beating St Gildas and Tetherdown and then lost to Harris CP who went on to win the cup. We narrowly missed out on a semi-final place but I was really happy with the progression we made throughout the day with some excellent try’s and a superb attitude from all involved!
Rugby Team: Ray, Naomi E, Ciana, Waverley, Triston, Bejan, Joseph
Tag Rugby Festival
Tag Rugby Team perform brilliantly at the Haringey Festival!
A huge well done to our Rugby Festival team as well. While they struggled to get a win, they did score some tries and made massive progress on the day – learning the game of rugby.
Rugby Festival: Chibu, Adrian, Ada, Alisha,
Thank you also to Diane Day for accompanying the children.
Year 3-4 Haringey Football Cup
On 17th November we took a boys team and a girls team to the Haringey Football Cup. Both teams got off to a flying start with the girls winning 6-0! The boys won 3-0. The boys battled well throughout the day but drew too many games, drawing 4, winning 2 and losing 2. The girls stole the show though with some huge wins! Overall, winning 4, drawing 2 and losing 2. It wasn’t quite enough for a medal but both teams showed there’s enough talent and enthusiasm to build for the future. It was played in fantastic spirit with great teamwork and lots of fun!

Boys Team: Alfie, Lazaro, Alex T, Kuba, Kyron, Ramone, Taylor, Didi
Cycling Event at Ducketts Common
Haringey Cycling League Round 1
After being postponed due to bad weather it was great to finally get the cycling season under way! Mr Allison and co had some great results with Lily finishing 2nd in her race in her first time racing and Ada gaining a silver in the finals of the girls section! We’ve nominated Isabelle P as our Cycling Captain for excellent cycling and a consistent positive attitude!
Cycling team: Isabelle, Lily, Rauhah, Alex, Bejan, Rico, Godwin, Ada, Olivia and Kayden
Netball Team perform superbly at Hi-Five Competition!
On 3rd November we entered the Hi-Five Netball competition. I was seriously proud of the team as we only lost 1 game throughout the whole tournament. Sadly that meant we finished 2nd in our group and didn’t qualify for the finals. We had 3 terrific wins, scoring freely and playing some excellent netball! Onto the next one!
