World Book Day 2025
The children have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of World Book Day this year – the theme of “Read Your Way” so we’ve seen lots of pyjamas, comfy track suits and onesies. This is possibly our first year with an Othello (well done!) and the variation has been wonderful to see. They will be coming home with their £1.00 World Book Day tokens which you can use to get a reduction on a range of lovely books. Thank you Mr Gould, English Lead, for organising such a celebratory and great day.
We’ll add more photos to this post as we get them – including more of our wonderful potatoes!
Reading Stay & Share
We started the day with a reading Stay & Share, where parents and carers were invited to come into school and either read to their child, or be read to. Thank you for coming along – we hope you enjoyed yourselves.
Author Visit to Rectory Gardens – Sita Brahmachari
The children at Rectory Gardens had a wonderful guest to give them a workshop. Sita Brahmachari, author, span colourful tales of her childhood and reminded the children how we can connect and have shared memories by things we have read, and using our imagination. Thank you so much for coming along Sita – the children were enthralled. If your children enjoyed Sita’s writing, she is on Instagram @sita.brahmachari and this is her website Sita Brahmachari website
A Mystery To Be Solved At Church Lane
The children at Church Lane were given a mystery dinner table to solve. Can you guess who came to dinner?
Potato Character Competition
Some of the children entered the competition to dress up a potato as a character from a book. Can you work out which book they are from? The winners will be announced next week.
Breaktimes & Classtimes
It’s always best when World Book Day is a sunny day, and this year didn’t disappoint. It’s great seeing the children, in character, running around at playtime.
