Easter 2024
Easter processions 2024
Today we celebrated our favourite part of the Easter period. Church Lane children processed, waving their palms high, accompanied by the Church Team, the local police and Derek the donkey. We had a very special service on the green outside Rectory Gardens and Hornsey was filled with the sound of our children singing loudly. Thank you to everyone who came along to help keep us all safe, and to Ian for setting up the sound system. Even the weather obliged with the rain staying off until we were all done. A special thank you to Derek and the lovely people at Spitalfields Farm.
Easter Pageant 2024
Years 1 to 6 walked to Hornsey Parish Church this morning to take part in a special Easter service. Year 3 had been practicing very hard to tell the story of Jesus in the form of an Easter pageant. They were amazing! They delivered their lines clearly and loudly and Mr Jenkins, Ms Murray and the whole Year 3 team were incredibly proud of them. All the children sang well and it was a joyous occasion. Donkey day next…!
Olive Dining – A Wonderful Easter display
Thank you so much to Olive Dining for such a wonderful Easter display – the dining room looks (and smells) amazing
PSA Easter Egg Hunt 2024
Did you come along to the PSA Easter Egg Hunt on Friday. It was lots of fun everyone enjoyed themselves, particularly working out the clues to find the eggs! There was a lovely cake sale plus a craft table where children could make and decorate their own baskets, to be filled with sweeties once they had completed the hunt. Thank you to Hornsey Tower for opening up and allowing people access this special space – the views from the top are spectacular and about 40 people took advantage of this. And thank you to the PSA for organising.
Year 5 to Easter Experience
We have a lot of wonderful things going on over Easter. Year 5 were lucky enough to see the Easter Experience, an immersive experience, at St Cuthberts Church in Wolves Lane. The children got to visit “Jerusalem” at the time of Jesus, met with a servant clearing up after the last supper and Pilate’s wife to hear about the trial. They also met a centurion who witnessed Jesus’ death, Mary who found the empty tomb and the disciple Peter, who saw the risen Jesus. It really brought the Easter story to life for the children, who were entranced.
