Autumn 2 Sporting Update
Mixed Year 3-4 Football Cup
In another mixed tournament (4 boys, 3 girls) we showed glimpses of our talent. We lost the opening two games by a single goal but showed improvement by then beating Weston Park 5-0 and beating Trinity and drawing with OLM. We then had a tough match against a strong Campsbourne, lost narrowly to Coleridge (4-3) and then beat North Haringey 6-1. We showed that we could compete with the best but couldn’t quite get over the line in several close games. The children showed fantastic teamwork and resilience throughout and did themselves and the school proud!
Y3-4 Mixed Team: Irene, Cataleya, Ireyne, Emilia, Alex M, Emmanuel, Isaiah, Frank P
Mixed day at the Hi-5 Netball Tournament for our Girls
On Monday 17th November, we sent our Girls Netball team to the Hi-5 comp at Highgate School. While you are allowed to enter boys, I decided we’d only send girls as our Netball Club is girls only. We lost our first two games, firstly to a strong St Michael’s team and then very narrowly to Rhodes Avenue – a game we really should have won. We then beat South Haringey 5-0 with Alayah scoring 3, had a win against Trinity and then needed to beat Tetherdown to qualify for the quarter final. In a super close 1-0 loss, we weren’t quite at our best and went out. Nevertheless, I’m confident we’ll continue to improve and can show how good we are this summer!
Netball Team: Alayah, Deena, Mabel, Amina, Danae, Lya, Robyn, Kacia
Boccia Competition
Ms Mallitte, Ms Wynter and Ms Toms took our team along to New River Sports Centre. Boccia is a little like boules and petanque. The children performed really well against some very stiff competition from other schools with a special mention to Kenny and Morgan. It was a great day!
Team: Darius, Emily, Kenny, Morgan, Ivan, Leona and Lio
