Christmas 2025
We have had so much to enjoy and be thankful for in this festive season.
Rectory Gardens Help Jack Get To The Top Of The Beanstalk
In a break with recent traditions, Rectory Gardens went to see the pantomime at the Kings Head Theatre, Islington. Being a smaller venue than Hackney meant that we were the audience and got to enjoy a great pantomime up close and personal. As you can see from the photos, the children were thoroughly engaged and although they got soaked on the way back to school, they thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
Christmas Nativity Shows
Our annual Christmas show was a real stunner this year. The children had all learnt their lines, practised their moves and warmed up their vocal chords. We are so grateful to have the wonderful talents of Mrs Peacock to really get the children to raise the roof with their singing, and also thanks to all the hard working staff who did running repairs on angel wings and comforted nervous children, as well as keeping a tight ship. It was lovely to all spend the day together at Rectory Gardens and to come together to put on this great show.
Christmas Dinner & Christmas Jumper Day
Wednesday 9th December was Christmas Jumper and most importantly, Christmas Dinner Day. Our kitchen staff at both Church Lane and Rectory Gardens outdid themselves to create an absolute feast – in the words of one of the children “It came from the heavens”
Choir to Alexandra Palace
Also on Wednesday 10th, Mrs Peacock, Mme Williamson, Mr Walker and some kind parents walked the choir up to Alexandra Palace to take part in a festival of songs with lots of other primary schools. Our children performed brilliantly, with a very tricky piece, and everyone was very impressed. The children made us so proud, with their confidence, as our choir is quite small, compared to some other schools. If you would like your Rectory Gardens child to join choir in January, please get in touch as there are still some places available. Ally Pally will also be the new home of the Haringey Music Service, which is exciting news (they briefly were based at Rectory Gardens) and this is a link to their press release (you can see our children if you look hard enough, in the last photo) Haringey Music Service – A New Home
Violin Assembly
On Tuesday 9th December, it was the turn of our second music concert and we enjoyed the violins, again showing how much a class can learn in one term. Thank you to Mary and Stephen, the violin teachers.
Church Lane Enjoy The Puppet Nativity at Holy Innocents
On Monday 8th December, Church Lane went to Holy Innocents Church to see the puppet Nativity which is always a great treat, and really sets the mood for the season
Our Wonderful Christmas Fair
Friday 5th December was our Christmas Fair this year and it had such a lovely atmosphere. So nice to see familiar faces from years gone by as well as new families, all enjoying the traditional things the fair has to offer, and so good of Santa to stop by. Thank you to the PSA for organising this
Trumpets & Trombones Concert
On Thursday 4th December we had the first of our music concerts, starting with the trumpets and trombones. It’s amazing to see the progress made in one term by Crimson class, and we were impressed with our continuers too. Thank you to Clara and Ben, our music teachers.
Church Lane Visit the Ice Panto at Alexandra Palace
Church Lane had a wonderful trip to Alexandra Palace to see Sleeping Beauty on Ice
Church Lane Learn About Christingle
Church Lane children enjoyed their Christingle workshop at Holy Innocents Church with Fthr Ben and learnt what Christingle means in the story of Jesus and Christmas
Our Hugely Special Advent Assembly
It all started with our Advent Assemby, where we all came together and the youngest and oldest child in the school turned on the Christmas tree lights. It is always a magical moment.
